Warm up your readers, gather your books, and get ready to play reading BINGO to raise funds for Talley! Here’s how it goes:

2. Start gathering pledges. Ask grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and neighbors to pledge an amount per square on your reading bingo card. We suggest $1-$10/square.

Share our Reading Rally campaign link far and wide!:

3. BINGO cards will be sent home in Thursday folders ahead of the 16th. They will also be available to download here in case it gets lost.

4. On Friday the 16th, start reading to complete your BINGO activities. Try to complete as many BINGO square activities as you can!

5. Parents, share your child’s fundraising page far and wide online.

6. Keep reading and bingo-ing through midnight on Sunday, October 25th. Bring in your bingo card on Monday the 26th to turn into your homeroom teacher.
7. Keep collecting donations and pledges through Monday the 26th.

There are prizes!!:

The joy of reading: We love this event because of the excitement and diversity of reading activities it brings to our students. We think a big part of the fun of reading rally is the READING!
Participation: Everyone who turns their bingo cards back in on Monday the 26th will receive 3 house points!
Class Level: The ONE student in each homeroom with the most number of BINGO squares will win a gift card to a local bookstore. If there are ties, we will hold a random drawing in each of those classes.
Grade level: The class in each grade with the highest total number of bingo squares completed will receive their choice of a class party.
House Level: All six houses will receive points, ranked by total number of BINGO squares completed (1st place = 30 pts; 2nd = 25 pts; 3rd = 20 pts; 4th = 15 pts; 5th = 10 pts; 6th = 5 pts).
School wide: the 1 class in the whole school with the most Bingo squares will win the coveted reading rally trophy, bragging rights, and a class party!

Why Do we have a REading Rally?

Our fall Reading Rally is a fun way to promote literacy while also raising funds to support teachers, staff, and students at Talley throughout the year. These funds raised will help:

Fund clubs and afterschool programs for students
Support community events like the popsicle social and more
Sponsor the True Book Fair
Support all other PTO missions and goals.
