Six Houses, One Talley: Sorting Day Is Almost Here

There's a certain kind of magic in the first week of school at Talley Street Upper Elementary — and it has a name: Sorting Day.

On Friday, August 7th, during the school day, every Talley Tiger will find out which of our six houses they belong to: Isibindi, Amistad, Nukumori, Rêveur, Onraka, or Altruismo. Think of it as the moment a new student stops being "the new kid" and becomes part of a family that will cheer them on all year long. Six houses, each with its own crest, colors, and character — and all of them united under one roof. That's the heart of what we mean when we say Six Houses. One Talley.

It's one of the most joyful, high-energy days on our calendar, and we know parents want to be right there in the middle of it. Here's the good news: you can be! We just ask one thing in return — that you volunteer to help make the day special. Our volunteers are the behind-the-scenes magic of Sorting Day. They hand out house colors, cheer on newly sorted Tigers, and keep the whole celebration running smoothly. Simply put, the day wouldn't sparkle without them. (And because of that, only volunteering parents are able to attend.)

So here's how to claim your spot:

Volunteer sign-ups go live Monday morning at 9:00 AM.

Spots fill up fast, so mark your calendar, set an alarm, and keep an eye on our page — we'll share the sign-up link right at 9. Whether you have an hour or the whole morning to give, there's a place for you in the magic.

Let's make this the best Sorting Day yet. 💙
