October at Talley
October is usually a busy one, and this year is no different! Talley has lots of fun events coming up- some for free, some with tickets, and some we need your volunteer help with.

1) Blank T-shirts for Field Day are due this Wednesday, September 30th
We extended the deadline to send a blank white t-shirt for your kiddo to their homeroom teacher. We will be screen printing them (at our Sip & Screen[print] event on Sunday) and returning them in time to wear on Field Day.

2) Family Trivia Night is this Thursday the 1st
Tickets are on sale now! Come compete for cash prizes. Concessions will be available (cash or card). Proceeds benefit the house system.

3) Walk N Roll to school this Friday the 2nd

4) The new date for the 3rd grade movie night is also this Friday the 2nd.
Tickets are $5, cash only. Concessions will be available, also cash only. Proceeds benefit the Talley Diversities and Activities Committee.

5) Come Sip & Screen[Print] field day tshirts with us on Sunday.
No screenprinting experience necessary! Just make sure to wear clothes or an apron that can get paint on it. We’ll have adult beverages and snacks, so it’s a 21+ event. We’ll take all the help we can get, so bring friends!
If you’ve ever wanted to learn about screenprinting this is a great low-key way to do it.

9) Picture Days are on Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th-divided by classes

11) Hispanic Heritage Month Event on Thursday the 15th
The DAC (Talley’s staff Diversity Activities Committee) is hosting a school-wide celebration of Hispanic Heritage on Thursday, October 15, and they need volunteers to help make it happen!

12) Reading Rally Kicks Off on Friday the 16th!
Reading Rally is our second largest fundraiser of the year and a beloved Talley tradition. While we don’t need volunteers for this event, we do need your participation!

13) The week of the 26th is Onraka’s Spirit Week, culminating in their Talley Rally on the 30th
14) Early Release on Wednesday the 28th
15) CIS’ Trunk or Treat is on Thursday the 29th
Communities in Schools (CIS) is hosting their annual Trunk or Treat event, and volunteers are needed to help create it.

16) Diwali Celebration — Oct. 25
District parents came together this year to form SACHA which will be hosting a community Diwali celebration. This is a family event, and we’d love to see a strong Talley turnout!
